Leah Scott-Kirby is a writer and artist living in South Lake Tahoe, California. She writes about the ordinary moments that hum beneath the surface, where memory and myth start to blur. Her work leans toward the surreal but never strays far from the body or the natural world, finding meaning in what people keep, hide, and hand down.

On the page, Leah is both observer and participant, sifting through the rituals of daily life to ask what lingers and what disappears. Her voice is intimate, lyrical, and unafraid of quiet, drawn to the spaces where the strange becomes familiar and the familiar turns strange again.

She co-founded The Practice of Writing, a creative community devoted to craft, connection, and the shared pulse of the writing life. Leah holds a BA in Literature from UC Santa Barbara and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Maine.

When she is not writing, she is playing Bones with her husband and ten-year-old son, running creative workshops, or walking her dogs through the pines, listening for the next story rising beneath the noise of the everyday.
